Ukraine: Serving the Bread of Life in War Zones!

About Us

The Ukraine Mission is a manifestation of answering God’s calling and serving from a heart of compassion reaching the one that are hardest to reach. Born out of a need encountered in the midst of the Ukrainian war, the serving that God imprinted in our hearts has grown into a beacon of hope, touching lives in both physical and spiritual ways in the war-torn regions of Ukraine.

Our Story

It all began with a simple act of kindness. Moved by the plight of those devastated by war, we distributed humanitarian aid and food in the war zones of Ukraine. A pivotal moment occurred in Kharkiv when we met a woman who hadn’t seen bread in over two months. Her tears became the catalyst for the Bread Project, which now lies at the heart of our mission in Ukraine. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we embarked on a journey to bake bread for those in need near the frontline. In addition to bread, we provide essential items such as food, hygiene products, stoves, generators, and other necessities that arise during the conflict.

Our Mission

The Ukraine mission is more than just sustenance; it’s a symbol of solidarity and love. We partner with local churches to bake and distribute bread, also  building up local communities and sharing the message of the Gospel. Our goal is clear: to reach one person at a time, offering help for both body and spirit.

Our Impact

The Bread Project

Since our inception in January 2023, we’ve exceeded expectations, baking over 175,000 loaves of bread and 40,000 pastry products in our first year alone. We operate in six different locations strategically placed, four of them are in local churches. But our work doesn’t stop there.

The bread is baked locally with the involvement of community volunteers. All ingredients used are sourced from Ukraine. Despite occasional challenges that may prevent us from physically being present due to the challenges in the area, we strive to maintain a consistent baking schedule. This ensures that people in need continue to receive the help they require. It’s a constant act of service that we are privileged to carry out.

In 2024, we’re aiming even higher, with a target of 200,000 loaves of bread. Each loaf represents more than just food; it’s a lifeline to those in need and an opportunity to find the Bread of Life!

Food packages & Other Necessities

In addition to our bread and pastry program, we made and delivered over 18,000 packages containing food and hygiene products. These packages were lifelines to countless families, offering not only sustenance but also hope and dignity.

Thanks to your generous contributions, we sent two semi-trucks filled with clothes and shoes to those in need. These items brought comfort and relief to many, particularly in harsh weather conditions.

We also distributed 300 stoves for heating and cooking, addressing critical needs for warmth and the ability to prepare meals. These stoves have been vital in improving the daily lives of many individuals and families.

Project Updates

Update #3 - 19 November 2023

Mission Trip in War Zones -November, 2023

Watch our video documenting our mission trip to Zaporizhzhia. Together with the Bishop of Zaporizhzhia, we visited frontline communities, delivering fresh bread and food packages. The situation in these areas is becoming increasingly difficult; humanitarian aid is harder to come by, and the lives of these people depend heavily on our support and that of the few other organisations operating in the region.

Update #2 - 5 February 2023

Rebuilding Memories From the Rubble: A Mission of Hope and Warmth

The relentless bombings have left many localities without electricity or gas, exacerbating the challenges of daily life. In response to this dire need, we have made a partnership with a local company to produce wood stoves. These stoves are essential, providing the means for families to heat their homes and cook their meals.

As highlighted in our previous post, people are courageously returning to their homes in areas liberated by the Ukrainian army. These brave souls are coming back to what remains of their life’s work, striving to rebuild their memories from the piles of rubble.

Our mission is to bring hope and warmth to these resilient communities. Through this initiative, we aim to offer not just physical comfort but also a symbol of solidarity and support. Together, we can help these communities rise from the ashes and rebuild their lives.

Stay tuned for more updates on our efforts and how you can get involved in making a difference. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
